Gender Equality in Job perspectives


Job perspective in gender equality is achieve when both genders able to enjoy the same right, same rewards, resources and opportunities in work place (Australian Government, 2018).

People believe that women are more suitable in kind of jobs that men not suppose to participate or involve, so to do which men felt women not suppose to involve some certain jobs due to those jobs need physical and mental strength to complete.

Why some professional jobs more likely employed men as employee rather than women? Professional jobs such as Engineering, Doctor, Lawyer, Pilot more likely suitable to Men than women as women will affect the decision making because women have emotional empathy and lack of leadership skills and may not take up the position, this is because men perform better on average at certain task. (UNESCO Bangkok, 2013)  

According to Good. co Team, they most likely to hire men not because of they are prejudice on women. It is because of based on aspect of personality in job role between male and female.

They have a research regarding to compared the personality profiles of make and females in certain occupation based on personalities included gender equality at work as per below:-

  • Are the average personality profiles of males and females truly different?
  • How do the personalities of women in the tech industry difference from those in other industries?
  • How do those leadership roles difference from creatives?
They have analyze the result of 7793 men and 5669 women who have take the assessment.


Men vs Women: Most Common Archetypes

We compare the proportion of men VS women assigned each of our archetypes.

As the graph show, the highest archetype in women was Humanitarian which is 15% while  in men was the Strategist in 16%

Humanitarian people like to help other and care about their well-being. Besides that, they like to encourage, collaborative and supportive, they also make sure that the benefit is welfare equity.

While for Strategist, they will think their life is a game of chess that they i plan and decide to win this game. They are independent and creative thinker who have high standard and strong work ethic.(Good.co Team, 2015)

These show that men and women have different personality and ability to handle a job by their skill and profession.

Mostly men dominate in construction and engineering while for women in care and clerical job. 
In qualification and academic level positions, men and women are represented equally (Beckers, 2005).

As a conclusion, both genders have their own strength and weakness as men tend to have a better spatial abilities while for women able to handle stress better than men.
